Building a murphy bed can be complex. There are several parts that all have to work well together before the bed will lift efficiently. If any measurements are wrong the bed will not flow smoothly.

I learned this from experience. I was hired to build a murphy bed for a vacation home. The customer insisted that they wanted to use the hardware kit they had. It came with some basic assembly instructions but nothing to build the actual bed. It turns out that the kit was not designed for a double bed and would not of handled the weight of the bed the customer wanted.
